Original Music Compositions

Fellow Ithaca acting student John Xavier Miller purchased my Barbershop Quartet Singing Valentine at a fundraising auction, and instead of using it as intended - to deliver a harmonious message to that special someone - he requested that we sing him to sleep one night. And so, I wrote a lullaby for the occasion.

The song, as performed, cycled through twice: first on a gentle “doo,” the second time through with the following lyrics:

Go to sleep...

Go to sleep...

Go and dream

of cock you f**ker.

Go to sleep (go to sleep) and dream, John!

Don’t let the bed-bugs bite...

Goodnight, sleep tight,

The moon is bright,

So drift away sweet baby John...

(sweet baby John!)

Just close your eyes,

and spread your thighs,

until the sun does rise.

(staggered lyrics:)

Until the sun,

until the sun,

until the sun does rise.

John's Lullaby

While it was performed a capella, no quality recording exists, and so the piano will have to do.
